Voting runs Friday, October 16 at 10:00 a.m. to Monday, October 26, 2026 at 8:00 p.m.
This year Innisfil votes by internet or telephone only. There are no paper ballots. To vote you need your Voter Information Letter, which is mailed only to people on the Voters' List, so the first step is making sure you are on it.
Key dates
- August 17, 2026: online voter registration opens.
- September 1, 2026: the Town begins processing online registrations.
- First week of October: Voter Information Letters arrive by mail.
- October 16, 2026, 10:00 a.m.: voting opens.
- October 24, 2026, 3:00 p.m.: online voter registration closes.
- October 26, 2026, 8:00 p.m.: voting closes.
Do not leave it to the last weekend. Register or check your details as early as you can.
Step 1: Check if you are on the Voters' List
Go to the Town's Voter Registration Portal (opens in a new tab) and enter your first name, last name, date of birth and address, then click Lookup. You can also use the portal to correct or update your name, address, date of birth or school support.
- If your details appear and they are correct, you are done. Watch for your Voter Information Letter in the mail the first week of October.
- If you see "Sorry, we could not find a matching voter with the provided details," you are not on the list. Click Register, or register in person at Town Hall during regular business hours.
Step 2: Register if you are not on the list
- Fill in all the required fields. Include your email address and phone number so an Election Official can tell you the status of your registration.
- Check the boxes certifying that your information is accurate and that you are a Canadian citizen.
- Take a picture of your identification showing your Innisfil address and upload it. Acceptable ID includes government-issued photo ID, or proof of residence as set out in Ontario Regulation 304/13.
- Click Register.
An Election Official will review your registration and will either add you to the Voters' List, accept your changes, ask for more information or decline the registration. You will be told the result by email.
If you are accepted, your Voter Information Letter comes by mail the first week of October. If you register after October 1, 2026, it will be emailed to the address you gave. If your letter has not arrived by then, do not wait: email elections@innisfil.ca or visit an Election Service Centre.
Step 3: Vote
Once you have your Voter Information Letter, you can vote any time, from anywhere, between October 16 at 10:00 a.m. and October 26 at 8:00 p.m.
- Online: on a computer, tablet or smartphone.
- By telephone: on a touch-tone phone, using the toll-free number in your letter.
- In person with help: at an Election Service Centre, where you can pick up a Voter Information Letter, vote on a tablet or telephone, and get help with anything else to do with voting.
